FEEDBACK
SESSION
WHAT were your intentions?
HOW did you realize them? WHY were you investigating them?
What does video reflect?
Video is artificial. I wanted to take something fake and make it
feel real
I feel like one of the things that really interests me about video,
is its ability to do things specific to the medium, like focus the viewers
attention, play with the conventions of its own medium, achieve things not
possible in real life or other mediums.
For me video reflects an artificially that often masquerades as
reality.
I wanted to look at making purely artificial content (video with
no camera input or pre recorded element) appear as naturalistic as possible.
The footage was recorded directly from a setup of video equipment
including, video synths, video mixers, effects, keyers and other things, and
then put into after effects to be moved, blurred and masked to feel more as tho
it was a real thing.
What did the feedback
reveal about your work?
Outline themes, motifs or
ideas the feedback suggested for further development.
It seemed like my
intentions were felt, people found it relaxing and organic. There was interest in
the techniques.
